The article provides many points which I can use to help me in my writing. The article “How Beauty is Making Scientists Rethink Evolution” is an article that explores the evolution of animals and why they evolve through beauty instead of what we see as natural selection. The author uses arguments from both sides, allowing his argument to be balanced and somewhat impartial. The article’s exploration of the advantages beauty has that would make certain animals evolve geared toward looks over practicality gives insight on the positives and negatives of both sides of the argument.  By using Darwin’s theories to help explain what is going on, the author clarifies why this topic is important and how it clashes with what scientists think today. In the article, the author wrote: “Ornaments, Darwin proposed, evolved through a separate process he called sexual selection: Females choose the most appealing males “according to their standard of beauty”…” This line is an example of how the author uses past theories to help improve his article.
